The Lviv airport handled its millionth passenger of 2019 on July 7.

The millionth passenger was a child who flew to Krakow (Poland) with his parents on a flight operated by the Ryanair low-cost airline, the CFTS portal reports, citing avianews.com.

Representatives of the airport congratulated the family at the check-in counter and presented them with gifts.

For comparison, the Lviv airport handled its millionth passengers on December 1 in 2017 and on August 26 in 2018.

According to the Lviv airport's General Director Tetiana Romanivska, the airport expects to handle its 2 millionth passenger in November or December.

To cope with the increased flow of passengers, the Lviv airport resumed handling regular domestic flights at its old terminal at the end of June. This has allowed the airport to increase the capacity of the arrival hall at its main terminal, which handles international passengers.
