Passenger traffic through the Lviv airport increased by 47.1% in the period of January-November 2018, compared with the period of January-November 2017, the CFTS portal reports, citing official statistics from the airport.
"Passenger traffic increased by 47.1% to 1.468 million in the period of January-November 2018, compared with 997,900 in the corresponding period of last year. The number of flights increased by 28.3% from 11,028 to 14,148," the airport said.
The total number of passengers on international flights increased by 20% to 1.277 million while the total number of passengers on domestic flights increased by 52.3% to 191,500 during the period of January-November 2018, compared with the corresponding period of 2017.
Passenger traffic through the airport increased by 57.1% to 124,900 in November 2018, compared with 79,500 in November 2017.
The Lviv airport handled 109,100 passengers on international flights and 15,800 on domestic flights in November 2018, an increase of 63.8% and 22.5%, respectively, compared with November 2017.
“The number of flights performed increased by 31.4% to 1,235 [in November 2018], compared with 940 in the same period last year,” the airport said.
As reported, the Lviv airport handled its millionth passenger of 2018 on August 26.
Ryanair, an Irish low-cost airline, began operating flights from Lviv in in October.
