The Lviv airport is holding talks with Vueling, a Spanish low-cost airline, on launch of flights to the airport. The Lviv airport’s General Director Tetiana Romanivska announced this in an interview with the CFTS portal.

Asked about the prospects of new low-cost airlines flying to Lviv in the near future, the airport's general director said, "Wizz Air is currently launching flights to three destinations, and other low-cost airlines will be watching its operations. EasyJet serves mainly the English market, which Wizz Air is entering. Eurowings is a German low-cost airline, but Dortmund and Berlin are already covered by Wizz Air. As for Spain, there is more space and we are negotiating with Vueling."

As reported, Romanivska recently announced that the Lviv airport was in talks with a Spanish airline, but she did not name the airline.

Vueling currently operates direct flights from the Kyiv-Zhulyany airport to Barcelona and Rome.

Jacdec, a German research company, has named Vueling one of the safest airlines in the world. The Spanish low-cost airline is 11th in Jacdec’s Airline Safety Ranking 2018.
