The World Trade Organization (WTO) knows nothing about the trade dispute between Russia and Ukraine, and Ukraine has not requested assistance in resolving dispute. The WTO itself does not initiate any action in relation to any country, the Interfax Ukraine news agency reports.
"As of today, we have not been formally informed of this dispute. All WTO members use the dispute resolution system, but none of the parties has used it so far in this case," the WTO said in response to a written request from Interfax Ukraine.
At the same time, the WTO refrained from making an assessment of the situation.
