Vitalii Portianko was appointed as the director of the Odessa International Airport limited liability company at a general meeting of the company’s shareholders on August 28, the press service of the airport reports.
Portianko was previously the executive director of the airport.
As reported, the company’s former director Oleksii Kochanov has joined the state-owned Boryspil international airport, where he occupies the post of acting general director.
The Odessa international airport is one of the largest airports in Ukraine. It occupies an area of 571.14 hectares, has a runway with a length of 2,800 meters, a passenger terminal, and a cargo complex. The airport is controlled by the Odessa International Airport limited liability company, which was created in the summer of 2011 by two entities - the Odessa International Airport utility company and the Odessa Airport Development limited liability company.
The Odessa International Airport limited liability company is currently building a new passenger terminal. The operating capacity of the airport’s terminal complex is expected to increase from 400 to 1,000 passengers per hour (1.5-2 million people per year) when the new terminal opens.
