Ukraine’s Minister of Infrastructure Volodymyr Omelian intends to create an Aviation Fund for reviving Ukrainian airports. Omelian announced this at a press conference at the Boryspil airport on September 3, the CFTS reports.
"This key question now is whether we will be able to convince the government and parliament that the so-called Aviation Fund – i.e. targeted financing of reconstruction of Ukrainian airports – should begin operation next year," the minister said.
As the CFTS reported, the authorities in the Kirovohrad region and the Ukrainian Ministry of Infrastructure intend to restore the airport in Kropivnytsia and grant it the status of an international airport.
The Cabinet of Ministers adopted the “Strategy for Revival of the Ukrainian Aircraft Industry until 2022” in May.
