The ferry service on River Danube, which connects Orlivka in Ukraine and Isaccea in Romania, began transporting cars, passenger vehicles, and pedestrians on 12 February.

The Odesa Customs Service announced this in a statement, the CFTS portal reports.

"12 February 2021 will go down in the history of the Orlivka-Isaccea border crossing as the day the quarantine on the movement of cars, passenger vehicles, and pedestrians was lifted by the Romanian government," the statement said.

According to the statement, the requirement to comply with all regulations related to COVID-19 remains in effect.

"Everyone who wants to will now be able to get to the opposite bank of River Danube by ferry in a matter of minutes after departing by car, bus, motorcycle, bicycle, or on foot," the statement said.

According to the statement, to cross into Romania or travel on transit through its territory, passengers must have negative results of PCR tests taken no later than 48 hours and confirmation of the need to enter the country or travel on transit through it, preferably translated into the Romanian language.

To enter Ukraine or travel on transit through its territory, passengers must have negative results of PCR tests taken no later than 48 hours, insurance, and confirmation of the need to enter the country for the purpose of transit without PCR tests, with mandatory departure from the country within two days.

As reported previously, the Orlivka-Isaccea ferry service on River Danube began operation on 10 August 2020.
