The volume of passenger traffic through the Boryspil international airport reduced by 65% to 3,503,730 in the first eight months of this year, compared with 9,974,298 in the corresponding period of last year.

This was announced by the airport’s administration, the CFTS portal reports.

Out of the 3.5 million passengers that the airport handled in the period of January-August this year, 2,332,347 were passengers on regular flights (a 69% reduction year-on-year) and 1,171,383 were on non-regular flights (a 50% reduction). According to statistics, the proportion of passengers on non-regular flights increased to 33% in the period of January-August this year from 23% in the corresponding period of last year and the proportion of passengers on regular flights reduced from 76% to 66%.

The number of transfer passengers reduced by 82.6% to 402,746 in the period of January-August this year from 2,309,520 passengers in the corresponding period of last year. The share of transfer passengers in the total number of passengers reduced from 23% to 11.5%.

The volume of passenger traffic through the airport reduced by 60% to 656,029 in August this year, compared with August last year. The number of passengers on regular flights reduced by 78% and the number on non-regular flights by 9% in August this year, compared with August last year.

As reported, the volume of passenger traffic through the Boryspil airport reduced by 66% to 2.847 million in the period of January-July 2020, compared with the corresponding period of last year.

The volume of passenger traffic through the airport reduced by 62% to 2,519,034 in the period of January-June 2020, compared with the corresponding period of 2019.
