A Ukrainian Armed Forces Il-76 aircraft carrying facemasks, mechanical ventilation devices, and coronavirus test kits from China landed at the Boryspil international airport on March 23.
The Office of the President of Ukraine announced this in a statement, the CFTS portal reports.
According to the statement, the military aircraft delivered two types of coronavirus tests to Ukraine: an unspecified number of PCR (polymerase chain reaction) test kits and 250,000 rapid test kits. In addition, the aircraft delivered medical facemasks with varying degrees of protection, disinfectors, mechanical ventilation devices, and other gear necessary for combating the spread of COVID-19.
According to the statement, the PCR test kits will be sent to laboratories in all region of Ukraine.
The rapid test kits and medical facemasks will be used to meet the urgent needs of doctors, military personnel, police, border guards, etc.
According to the Office of the President of Ukraine, several more flights to China for medical supplies are planned for this week.
