The ports of Greater Odesa have handled 75 million tons of cargo, including 50.1 million tons of Ukrainian agricultural products, since the Ukrainian maritime corridor began operations.
The Ukrainian Ministry of Development of Communities, Territories, and Infrastructure announced this in a statement, the CFTS portal reports.
"The Ukrainian maritime corridor that passes through the ports of Greater Odesa has been operating around the clock since 15 March 2024, resulting in a 20% increase in the export of agricultural and other goods," the ministry said.
Ukrainian products have been exported to 50 countries in Africa, Asia, Europe, and the Americas.
"While the aggressor continues to destroy port infrastructures systematically, risking a global food crisis, Ukraine reaffirms its status as a key player in the global food market, increasing export volumes despite systematic attacks," the ministry said.
As the CFTS portal reported, Russia has been attacking civilian port infrastructure in the Odesa region in recent days. On 10 October, a container ship flying the flag of Panama was damaged in an attack. On 6 October, a civilian vessel flying the flag of Saint Kitts and Nevis and carrying a cargo of corn was attacked in a port. On 5 October, an attack on a civilian vessel flying the flag of Palau killed a Ukrainian employed by a private cargo handling company and injured five foreign nationals on board.
