Cargo traffic through the Yuzhny seaport (Odessa region) increased by 2.5% to 39.459 million tons in the period of January-October, compared with the corresponding period of last year. The press service of the Administration of Seaports of Ukraine (ASU) announced this, citing operational data.
Processing of export goods increased by 1.6% to 30.610 million tons and processing of import goods increased by 39.5% to 4.138 million tons.
Out of the 14 operators at the Yuzhny seaport, seven increased their transshipment volumes. The Delta Wilmar CIS company increased its transshipment volume from 350,600 tons to 457,500 tons (+30.5%) in the first ten months of this year, compared with the same period of last year; the TIS-Fertilizers company increased its transshipment volume from 1.613 million tons to 1.938 million tons (+20.1%); the OPZ company increased its transshipment volume from 3.299 million tons to 3.476 million tons (+5.3%).
In addition, the TIS-Grain company increased cargo transshipment from 5.024 million tons to 5.247 million tons (+4.5%), the Transinvestservis company from 13.576 million tons to 13.953 million tons (+2.8%), the Borivage company from 1.43 million tons to 1.449 million tons (+1.3%), and the state-owned Yuzhny Commercial Seaport from 12.202 million tons to 12.258 million tons (+0.5%).
The largest volumes of cargo handled during the period of January-October were 7.899 million tons of grain (+15.2% compared with the same period of 2014), 21.176 million tons of ore (+5.1%), and 1.137 million tons of urea (+9.6%).
