The QTerminals company (Qatar) has won the concession tender for the state-owned Olvia Stevedoring Company.

The Ministry of Infrastructure announced this in a statement, the CFTS portal reports.

“QTerminals from Qatar is the winner of the concession tender in the Olvia seaport. UAH 3.4 billion will be invested in development of the seaport over a period of five years. This is one of the largest foreign direct investments in the Ukrainian port industry since Ukraine attained independence. The amount of annual concession payments is UAH 82 million, which is 16 times more than the port’s profit in 2019. The concessionaire will invest UAH 80 million in development of Mykolaiv’s infrastructure, which will facilitate sustainable development of the local community and the enterprise’s territory of presence," Infrastructure Minister Vladyslav Kryklyi said.

QTerminals (Qatar), Peters Maritime Agency LLC (Ukraine), and Protti-Gasolin LLC (Ukraine) passed the prequalification assessment for participation in the concession tender.

Applications to participate in the competition were accepted from October 18 to December 16, 2019. The Ministry of Infrastructure announced concession tenders for the Olvia seaport and the Kherson seaport on September 12, 2019.

As the CFTS portal reported earlier, QTerminals engages in port operations, shipping, and transshipment of containers, general cargoes, and RORO cargoes.

As the CFTS portal reported, the Risoil-Kherson company has won the concession tender for the state-owned Kherson Commercial Seaport. Risoil-Kherson will invest over UAH 18 million in local infrastructure.
