A container terminal has begun operation in the port of Reni, becoming the only container terminal currently operating in Ukraine.
The Odesa region’s Agency for Regional Development announced this in a statement, the CFTS portal reports.
"The Viking Alliance container terminal has been launched under a memorandum of cooperation. It is located in a commercial port in the city of Reni. It is the only container terminal in Reni and the only one operating in Ukraine today," the statement said.
According to the statement, thanks to its link with mainline container carriers in Constanța (Romania) and Istanbul (Turkey), Viking Alliance has resumed transportation by sea for the first time since the beginning of the war, exporting both the agricultural products of Ukrainian farmers and the products of domestic manufacturers from all over Ukraine.
The project was created with the support of the embassies of Denmark and Sweden, the Ukrainian Seaports Authority, and the Ukrainian Ministry of Infrastructure.
