Risoil South LLC, a subsidiary of Risoil SA (Switzerland), has commissioned a terminal for transshipment of vegetable oils with a capacity of 600,000 tons per year at the Yuzhny port, the Interfax Ukraine news agency reports, citing the company’s Director Mykola Bolhar.

"A facility for receiving vegetable oil from vehicles was launched on November 7, and a facility for receiving vegetable oil from railway tank cars was launched today," he said.

The terminal can handle up to 120 vehicles (up to 3,500 tons of oil) and 25 railway tank cars (1,500 tons) per day. According to him, the maximum capacity of the terminal’s reservoirs is 52,000 tons.

Bolhar estimated the cost of construction of the facility at UAH 110 million.

Risoil SA was founded in Switzerland in 2000. It has offices and manufacturing facilities in several member-countries of the European Union, Ukraine, and Georgia. The company commissioned one of Europe’s largest logistics terminals for vegetable oils in Ilyichevsk (Odessa region) in 2004. This terminal has a transshipment capacity of 1.2 million tons per year. Risoil SA began selling vegetable oil on European markets in 2005.
