The Constanta port, Romania’s largest seaport, has become the main transportation hub for Ukrainian grain exports since the beginning of the full-scale Russian invasion of Ukraine, the CFTS portal reports, citing the Latifundist publication.

According to the Constanta Port Authority, over 12 million tons of Ukrainian grain have been shipped from this port, including 8.6 million tons in 2022 and 3.33 million tons in the first quarter of 2023.

In total, the port of Constanta shipped 24.01 million tons of grain in 2022 and 6.6 million tons in the first quarter of 2023. This means that Ukrainian grain accounted for 36% of the port's total export grain traffic last year and over 50% in the first quarter of this year.

Most of the Ukrainian grain reaches the port of Constanta via Ukrainian ports on the Danube River, as well as by rail and road.

Several stevedoring companies, including Comvex and TTS, handle Ukrainian cargo at the port.
