Shallow waters on River Danube have stopped the operations of vessels belonging to the Ukrainian Danube Shipping Company (UDP), the press service of the company announced in a statement.
"According to UDP’s Deputy Board Chairman Volodymyr Romakh, three caravans belonging to the shipping company - MV Dnepropetrovsk from Solt (Hungary), MV Irkutsk, and MV Sofia from Csepel (Hungary) - were unable to continue their journey during the night of 23-24 September because of insufficient water depth," UDP’s press secretary Aliona Khodarchenko said.
According to her, dispatchers have decided to "close the entire length of the River Danube to navigation from 23 September 2015".
