SkyUp plans to open bases in Egyptian resorts to transport tourists during the upcoming winter season, which will begin in late October 2023 and end in late March 2024.

"We are preliminarily considering basing two of the airline’s aircraft in Sharm el-Sheikh and two or three in Hurghada," the airline said.

A SkyUp representative also said the airline plans to operate in Egypt under ACMI leasing (wet leasing) contracts. Under such contracts, SkyUp will provide Ukrainian aircraft, crew, maintenance, and insurance to the customer, and the customer will pay a fixed fee and sell tickets independently.

The airline has not yet specified the Egyptian company that will lease SkyUp aircraft for transporting tourists.

According to the SkyUp representative, the airline is open to cooperation under ACMI lease contracts in Egypt and other parts of the world.
