Representatives of the Union of Road Hauliers of Slovakia have blocked truck traffic through the Vysne Nemecke border crossing, which is adjacent to the Uzhhorod border crossing.
The State Border Guard Service of Ukraine announced this in a statement, the CFTS portal reports. Slovak border guards transmitted the relevant information at about 16:10 on 11 December 2023.
According to the statement, the truckers are restricting the movement of trucks traveling from Ukraine to Slovakia. Trucks leaving Slovakia are currently not being blocked.
Passenger cars and buses are allowed to cross as usual.
According to Ukrainian border guards, there are currently 1,263 trucks in the electronic queue to depart for Slovakia at the Uzhhorod border crossing.
As reported earlier, the Slovak truckers are blocking the border crossing to demand the reintroduction of transport permits for Ukrainian truckers. Hungarian and Polish truckers are making the same demands.
Earlier on 11 December 2023, it was reported that Polish truckers had agreed to unblock the Yahodyn–Dorohusk border crossing.
