The State Property Fund’s head Ihor Bilous spoke about future operation of ports as concessions at a press conference in Kiev on Thursday, 9 July, the CFTS correspondent reports.

"Personally, I am inclined not toward sale of ports but toward granting concessions based on the standards existing all over the world. It is a super-good and liquid state property that I believe does not need to be sold. Instead, professional global operators that will manage ports professionally on concession terms should be considered," said the head of the State Property Fund.

As the CFTS portal reported, the Ukrainian parliament’s special commission on privatization recognized at a meeting in Odessa on 12 June that concession would more effectively serve public interest at all stages of preparation and implementation of the relevant projects than lease or investment of private capital in development of ports.
