A competition for the post of director of the Mariupol seaport will be held in the near future. In addition, the contracts of the directors of two seaports are expiring in the autumn.
Deputy Infrastructure Minister Dmytro Romenskyi stated this during an interview with the CFTS portal.
Asked which port directors would be selected via competitions in the near future, the deputy minister said, "There is a separate procedure for enterprises of strategic importance. The decisions on them will be made by the Ministry of Economy and Trade’s nomination committee. A competition for [the post of director of] the Mariupol commercial seaport will be held through the Ministry of Economy and Trade in the near future."
In addition, according to him, there will also be vacancies at the Yuzhny seaport in the near future (the contract of the port’s director will end on September 9, 2016) and the Skadovsk commercial seaport (the contract of its director will end on September 23, 2016). Accordingly, these seaports should also have new directors after the respective competitions.
"The minister and I take the position that there will be no automatic extension of the contract when the contract ends – the person has to enter a competition," Romenskyi said.
As the CFTS portal reported, the Ministry of Infrastructure was scheduled to hold competitions for the positions of director of the state-owned Mykolaiv seaport and the state-owned Bilhorod-Dnistrovskyi seaport on Friday, 12 August.
The competition commission will hold the competitions in two phases. "The first stage will focus on admission to the competition. If a candidate meets the qualification requirements and submits the full package of documents, he will advance to the second phase. The first and second phases will take place on Friday," the deputy minister said.
