The Uber online taxi service has begun searching for candidates to head its Kiev office. The relevant advertisements were published on the website of the company and in the LinkedIn network, lb.ua reports, citing ain.ua.

The Uber service, which competes with traditional taxi services, is available in more than 300 cities, including 50 in the EMEA region (Europe, Middle East, and Africa).

Based on the requirements for the candidate, the company intends to enter and expand on the local market, establish operations with partners, have a presence at local thematic events, etc. "The general director will be responsible for the growth and development of our business in one of the major international cities," the job description states.

Uber is an on-demand transport service that allows customers to book the services of a private driver through a smartphone application. The transport cost is charged to a card that is tied to an account on the Uber website. Therefore, it is not necessary to pay or tip the driver. The owners of the service pay the driver.

"Traditional" taxi drivers all over the world are actively protesting against Uber because the online service offers lower prices.
