The Lviv airport’s General Director Tetiana Romanovska has told tvoemisto.tv that the airport has held talks with Ukraine International Airlines (UIA) on the possibility of launching flights to North America, avianews.com reports.

Romanova said that Ukrainian Airlines performed flights to North America (from the Lviv to Toronto) in 1991.

According to Romanovska, Ukraine International Airlines has said that it could perform a test flight this year after performing the relevant calculations.

In addition, according to her, the Wizz Air low-cost airline may launch new routes from the Lviv airport, but the airline wants to first analyze the demand for its first flight from Lviv in a long time (the twice-weekly Lviv-Wroclaw flight it launched on 13 April).

Wizz Air will perform the analysis in March and then decide whether to launch new flights, most likely to Germany.

In addition, Turkish Airlines and Pegasus Airlines intend to increase the numbers of their flights to Lviv.
