SkyUp Airlines, a Ukrainian carrier, has received a Foreign Air Operator Certificate (FAOC) in Canada, which will allow it to provide ACMI (Aircraft, Crew, Maintenance, and Insurance) or aircraft wet-lease services and to operate charter flights from other countries to Canada.
The airline announced this in a statement on 2 October, the CFTS portal reports.
The carrier received a charter permit and a CBSA carrier code from the Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) as part of the certification.
SkyUp has received permission to operate nine aircraft on international routes to Canada. These are seven Boeing 737-800s (registration numbers UR-SQQ, UR-SQG, UR-SQP, UR-SQC, UR-SQF, UR-SQB, and UR-SQO) and two Boeing 737-700s (registration numbers UR-SQE and UR-SQD).
As reported in late September, SkyUp Airlines has received FAR (Foreign Air Carrier) Part 129 approval from the United States Federal Aviation Administration, allowing it to operate in the United States of America. Four of the airline's Boeing 737-800 aircraft (registration numbers UR-SQB, UR-SQC, UR-SQF, and UR-SQP) have been granted permission to fly in U.S. airspace.
