Ukraine International Airlines has again started providing hot meals to passengers in economy- class on medium-haul flights, but for additional fees, avianews.com reports.
A lunch of chicken, salad, dessert, and drink to choose from during a flight will cost EUR 9. In addition, passengers can buy dessert, tea, coffee, or juice separately. Each of these items on the on-board menu will cost EUR 2.
UIA introduced fees for meals on medium-haul international flights on March 1. Meals were expected to be provided for fees on all medium-haul flights from the beginning of the summer season, but the duration flights without free food was eventually limited to 185 minutes.
UIA plans to start charging economy-class passengers fees for meals on longer flights from September.
Free food is provided to business-class passengers on all flights as well as to economy-class passengers on long-haul flights.
As reported, Infrastructure Minister Andrii Bondarenko has expressed strong dissatisfaction with paid food on board flights.
