Ukraine International Airlines (UIA) plans to add a brand new Boeing 737 NG airliner to its fleet within the next two weeks, the CFTS reports, citing information from UIA.

The aircraft, which will have the registration number UR-UIB, should arrive in Ukraine at the end of March.

As reported, UIA took delivery of a new aircraft directly from the Boeing factory on March 17. The Boeing 737-800 with the tail number UR-UIC landed in Boryspil at 22:29 on Friday.

UIA expects to take delivery of one more aircraft of this type from the company’s factory in Seattle in 2018. The airline will also add a used Boeing 737 NG to its fleet.

In total, UIA plans to take delivery of 10 aircraft this year: four Boeing 777 (one of which is already in service), four Boeing 737-800 NG (one has already being delivered), and two Embraer 195. UIA will stop operating Boeing-737 Classic in 2018 and remove these aircraft from its fleet.

The airline currently has a fleet of 41 airliners of various modifications, including 28 medium-haul Boeing 737 NG with an average age of 9.4 years. The average age of the airline’s fleet is 11.5 years.
