Ukraine increased imports of coal and anthracite by 1,719,348 tons or 9.9% to 19,095,445 tons in the first 11 months of 2018, compared with the corresponding period of 2017, the CFTS portal reports, citing the Interfax Ukraine news agency.

According to the State Fiscal Service, coal worth USD 2.693 billion was imported during the reporting period, which is 10.8% more than the USD 2.431 billion worth of coal that was imported in the corresponding period of 2017.

Coal worth USD 1.667 billion was imported from Russia in the period of January-November 2018 (this constituted 61.91% of the total value of coal imports during this period), coal worth USD 806.349 million from the United States (29.94%), USD 128.608 million from Canada (4.78%), and USD 90.865 million from other countries (3.37%).

In addition, Ukraine exported 63,617 tons of coal and anthracite worth USD 8.627 million in the period of January-November 2018, including USD 4.597 million to the Russian Federation, USD 3,201 million to Slovakia, USD 0.715 million to Moldova, and USD 0.114 million to other countries.

As the CFTS portal reported earlier, Ukraine increased imports of coal and anthracite by 2,343,370 tons or 15.5% in the first 10 months of 2018, compared with the same period in 2017. It imported 17,425,708 tons in the first 10 months of 2017.
