The Ukrainian Cabinet of Ministers decided on May 15 to impose a special import duty on all goods originating from the Russian Federation. The only exemptions are sensitive imports, such as coal, coke, gasoline, liquefied natural gas, and pharmaceutical products, the CFTS portal reports, citing information published by the Ukrainian Ministry of Economic Development and Trade.
The Cabinet of Ministers decision imposed a special duty on goods imported from the Russian Federation into Ukraine from August 1, 2019, regardless of other types of duties.
Revenue from the special duty will be accumulated in a special state budget fund and used to finance import substitution operations.
As the CFTS portal reported earlier, Ukraine has imposed an embargo on Russian cement and plywood.
