Ukraine reduced the import of bituminous coal and anthracite by 7.3673 million tons or 2.7-fold to 4.3085 million tons in the first seven months of 2022, compared with the corresponding period of 2021.
The CFTS portal reported this, citing the Interfax Ukraine news agency.
According to the State Customs Service, Ukraine imported coal worth USD 1.27466 billion in the period of January-July 2022, which is 11.5% less than it imported in the period of January-July 2021.
It imported coal worth USD 420.589 million from the Russian Federation (40.92% of the total imports), USD 277.972 million from the United States (27.05%), USD 100.235 million from Australia (9.76%), and USD 228.67 million from other countries (22.26%).
Ukraine exported 450,600 tons of coal in the first seven months of 2022, including to Slovakia (worth USD 93.349 million), Poland (USD 34.084 million), and Hungary USD 15.919 million.
