The Ministry of Infrastructure has prepared the draft law "On Harmonizing Ukrainian Legislation on Road Transport with the Regulations of the European Union." The document was prepared pursuant to the Association Agreement between Ukraine and the European Union, press service of the Ministry of Infrastructure said.
The draft document provides for implementation 14 acts of EU legislation: nine acts in accordance with the Association Agreement and five systemically associated with them. The latter concern such issues: access to the transport market; organization of public transport and social welfare; the working hours and rest periods of drivers, the use of tachographs; maintenance of levels of professional competence of drivers; the use of speed limiters.
The ministry expects the Cabinet of Ministers to consider the draft law within the next two weeks, followed by its registration in the parliament.
