All passenger flights between Ukraine and other countries will be suspended from March 17.

Parliament Speaker Dmytro Razumkov announced this on the NewsOne television channel on Monday, the CFTS portal reports, citing the Interfax Ukraine news agency.

According to him, all passenger flights will be banned from 00:00 on March 17.

The parliament speaker added that Ukrainian citizens would be able to return to the country after March 17 only through overland border crossings. These restrictions are being introduced for an initial two weeks.

“If we are talking about land and sea [transport], primarily land, then our citizens will be able to return to the territory of our country... Air transport is not the only one, and I think there will be other mechanisms for return of citizens. However, Ukrainian citizens will not be able to leave the territory of our country," said Razumkov.

As reported earlier, the Ukrainian National Security and Defense Council decided on March 13 to close Ukraine’s borders to foreigners for two weeks.
