Ukrainian airline companies transported 2.985 million passengers in the first six months of 2014 or 8.3% fewer than the number of passengers they transported in the first six months of last year, the press office of the Ministry of Infrastructure has announced.
Ukrainian airline companies transported 2.623 million passengers on international routes in January-June (4.1% fewer that the 2.734 million passengers they transported on international routes in January-June last year) and transported 362,000 passengers on domestic routes (30.3% fewer than the 519,000 they transported on domestic routes in January-June last year).
Ukrainian carriers transported 1.807 million passengers on international regular flights in January-June (6.3% more than they transported on such flights in January-June last year) and transported 816,000 passengers on non-regular flights (21.1% fewer). They transported 351,000 passengers on regular domestic flights (29.1% fewer).
In total, the Ukrainian State Air Traffic Services Enterprise (UkSATSE) handled 212,200 flights from January to June, which are 11.9% fewer than the number of flights it handled in the corresponding period of last year. UkSATSE handled 10.6% fewer flights performed by airplanes and helicopters belonging to Ukrainian airline companies and 12.2% fewer flights by airplanes and helicopters belonging to foreign airline companies.
