Ukrainian seaports handled 7 million tons of cargo in August 2024, more than double the 3.3 million tons they handled in the same period of 2023.

The Ukrainian Sea Ports Authority (USPA) announced this in a statement, the CFTS portal reports.

The leading categories of cargo handled by Ukrainian ports in August 2024 were grain (4 million tons compared with 2.3 million tons in August 2023) and ore (1.2 million tons compared with 195,000 tons in August 2023).

Cargo traffic through Ukraine's maritime corridor reached 5.9 million tons in August, of which 3.6 million tons were Ukrainian agricultural products.

In total, Ukrainian ports handled almost 67 million tons of cargo in January-August 2024, compared with 37.7 million tons in the same period of 2023.

Ukrainian ports handled 7,769 ships during this period, compared to 9,732 in the same period of 2023.
