The Ukroboronprom state defense concern is working on the development of an attack unmanned aerial vehicle that could—in case of successful tests and mass production—counter the Iranian kamikaze drones Russia is currently using.
This is a conclusion that can be drawn from a statement that Ukroboronprom posted on Facebook on 17 October.
"We are practically telling you nothing (this is necessary, believe me), but this ‘nothing’ is working successfully on the battlefield and some other ‘nothing’ is undergoing successful tests," Ukroboronprom said in the statement, the CFTS portal reports.
"The range is 1,000 km; the weight of the warhead is 75 kg. We are finalizing its development," the state defense concern added without providing further details.
As reported earlier, Ukroboronprom and the Honeywell corporation (United States) agreed to cooperate in areas such as aviation, UAVs, navigation, and radars in September.
As reported, Ukroboronprom announced the serial production of UAVs at the production facilities of the Antonov state aircraft manufacturing enterprise back in 2018.
