The Ukrposhta postal company delivered 21.1 million parcels in 2017. The company’s revenue from its mail business grew by 37%, the CFTS portal reports, citing data from the company.

"We increased revenues from delivery of parcels by a record margin last year. This was achieved through development of the Ukrposhta Express and Ukrposhta Standard services. In comparison, Ukrposhta delivered 46,000 express mail in the entire 2016. Now, Ukrposhta delivers the same number of express mail in a few days, and the figure is constantly rising. A new mail delivery format for the Ukrainian market called Ukrposhta Smartbox has been introduced. It offers a single tariff regardless of weight and distance," Ukrposhta First Deputy General Director Oleksandr Pertsovskyi said.

To increase the volume of deliveries and revenues, Ukrposhta invested in development of its logistical infrastructure, upgraded the equipment at its sorting centers, purchased 279 new vehicles, and launched an upgraded courier delivery service last year.

As reported earlier, Ukrposhta expects revenues of UAH 1.503 billion from delivery of written correspondence (ordinary, recommended, and small packages) in 2018, which is 18.8% or UAH 238 million more than its projected revenue in 2017. These figures are stated in the company’s draft financial plan for 2018.

Meanwhile, the number of items delivered by Ukrposhta’s private competitor Nova Posta increased 54 million to 145.8 million between 2013 and 2017.
