The Ukrposhta postal company launched an international EMS (Express Mail Service) express mail delivery service in Ukraine on April 1.

The Ministry of Infrastructure announced this in a statement, the CFTS portal reports.

"The EMS service is very popular all over the world, but it was expensive for most customers in Ukraine. That is why, as part of the reintegration of service into Ukrposhta, the company reviewed and significantly lowered the existing tariffs to make them more affordable to customers. EMS services for 90% of all mail will be provided at a new, reduced price from April 1: for shipments weighing up to 2 kg, the price will be 40% lower than the cost at which they were previously delivered by the State Special Communications Enterprise. For shipments weighing up to 10 kg, the price will be reduced by 20%," the statement said.

The service will be available in almost 1,000 Ukrposhta branches from April 1. From June 1, more than 4,000 automated branches of the company will be able to accept EMS mail for delivery abroad.

It will be possible to use the service in all regional centers of Ukraine without leaving home by ordering courier deliveries.

According to the statement, EMS is an expedited international delivery service provided by national post offices that are members of the Universal Postal Union.

Ukrposhta will make EMS deliveries exclusively by air.

As the CFTS portal reported earlier, Ukrposhta intends to deliver packages to hospitals free of charge.
