The Ukrposhta joint-stock postal company is the first major company with state capital to start leasing out its properties through the ProZorro.Sales electronic sales system. The head of ProZorro.Sales, Oleksii Sobolev, announced this at the Ukrainian Crisis Media Center, according to information from the Ministry of Economics.
"PJSC Ukrposhta is the first enterprise with state share capital in Ukraine to develop and introduce a mechanism for leasing properties on a competitive basis," Sobolev said.
"The revenue from lease of real estate owned by Ukrposhta is UAH 10 million per year. With the help of the ProZorro.Sales platform, we plan to increase it to UAH 100 million in the period of 2018-2019," said Dmytro Sennichenko, the director of property management and infrastructure at Ukrposhta.
More than 30 of the largest state and municipal enterprises in the country, including Privatbank, the National Bank of Ukraine, the Naftogaz of Ukraine national energy company, the Energoatom nuclear power company, the Kyiv subway, and Ukrposhta, are using the property sales services of ProZorro.Sales.
The ProZorro.Sales property rental service will be available to utilities, local executive agencies, and organizations in which the state owns more than a 50%stake.
According to the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade, Ukrposhta manages one of the largest real-estate portfolios in Ukraine. The company owns more than 5,000 real-estate facilities with a total of 1.2 million square meters of space. Almost 220,000 square meters are not used in the company’s production process, but only 80,000 square meters of these are leased. The cost of maintaining and owning the real estate is more than UAH 400 million per year.
