The Ukrzaliznytsia public railway company has managed to reduce its losses in the past two months through indexation of tariffs, the company's press service told the CFTS.
Ukrzaliznytsia reported a net loss of UAH 916 million for the first five months of this year, down from UAH 1.984 billion in the first quarter.
In addition, according to Ukrzaliznytsia, it plans to break even by the end of 2016. The company’s financial plan provides for a net profit of UAH 96 million.
As CFTS reported earlier, Ukrzaliznytsia raised freight rates by 15% on 30 April.
