The State Railway Administration (Ukrzaliznytsia) has lowered its fees for clearance of transit freight at border stations, the RZD-Partner publication reports.

According to the report, Ukrzaliznytsia lowered its fees for services involving organization of clearance of loaded railcars at border stations.

The fee for services related to arrival and delivery of freight at border stations has been lowered by 48.5% to UAH 232.3 per railcar (about USD 29 per railcar) compared with 2013. The fee for services related to reception of freight from abroad and sending of freight by border stations has been lowered by 40% to UAH 258.3 per railcar (USD 32.3 per railcar).

The new fees will come into force on January 1, 2014, and apply throughout the year. The fee reductions are stipulated in draft agreements on transportation of freight on transit by Ukrainian railways in 2014.
