The Ukrainian Railways joint-stock company (Ukrzaliznytsia) is restoring the railway link with Izium on 10 October, when rail buses will begin running on the Kharkiv-Izium and Izium-Balakliia routes.
According to the Ministry of Infrastructure, both trains will run daily, the CFTS portal reports.
The suburban train No. 6403/6404, which will link Kharkiv and Izium, will depart from Kharkiv at 07:00 and arrive in Izium at 10:47. The train will depart from Izium at 17:02 and arrive in Kharkiv at 20:48.
The train No. 6602/6603, which will link Balakliia and Izium, will depart from Izium at 10:59 and arrive in Balakliia at 12:29. The train will depart from Balakliia at 15:08 and arrive at Izium station at 16:38.
As reported previously, a Pesa railbus was launched between Kharkiv and Balakliia on 15 September, following the liberation of districts of the Kharkiv region from the Russian invaders.
The Kharkiv-Derhachi and Kharkiv-Chuhuiv rail links have also been restored.
"We will start work on restoration of the links with the Kharkiv region’s key railway hub of Kupiansk as soon as we receive the green light from the Ukrainian Armed Forces and explosives experts," Minister of Infrastructure Oleksandr Kubrakov said.
