The Ukrainian Railways joint-stock company (Ukrzaliznytsia) resumed international rail services between Ukraine and Slovakia on July 1.

The company announced this in a statement, the CFTS portal reports.

"This was made possible by an agreement between the Ukrainian and Slovak railways and the improvement of the pandemic situation," the company said in the statement.

As the CFTS portal previously reported, Ukrzaliznytsia planned to begin resuming international passenger transportation in June. In particular, it reached preliminary agreements on restoration of railway links with Austria and Hungary. It also held talks with the PKP Intercity company and the Polish Railways on restoration of high-speed links between Ukraine and Poland.
