The Ukrainian Railways joint-stock company (JSC Ukrzaliznytsia) and DAI Global LLC have signed a memorandum on the implementation of the "Economic Support for Ukraine" international technical assistance project for the development of Ukrainian grain exports by rail, funded by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID).

Ukrzaliznytsia announced this in a statement, the CFTS portal reports.

According to the statement, the memorandum provides for assisting the Ukrainian railway monopoly in the repair and restoration of grain hoppers and the purchase of locomotives for pulling grain cars. As part of the project, DAI Global may support, among other things, the modernization of border crossing infrastructure, the procurement of shunting locomotives and weighing equipment, and the monitoring of freight traffic, with a focus on grain.
