The Ukrzaliznytsia public railway company and the Kryukov Railcar Building Works (Kremenchug) signed a memorandum of cooperation on ​​Thursday, 10 November.

As stated by the Kryukov Railcar Building Works, the memorandum states that Ukrzaliznytsia needs to upgrade its rolling stock and that the Kryukov Railcar Building Works has successfully supplied freight and passenger railcars to it.

According to the memorandum, the Kryukov Railcar Building Works will ensure a high level of production localization (Ukrainian manufacturing will account for 60-80% of the product cost).

"The Kryukov Railcar Building Works is ready for introduction of advanced technologies, including by contracting leading foreign manufacturers to create modern rolling stock in accordance with Ukrzaliznytsia’s technical specifications," the railcar manufacturer said.

Ukrzaliznytsia and the Kryukov Railcar Building Works also confirmed their readiness to cooperate on production and modernization of rolling stock. Specifically, they intend to cooperate on production and modernization of broad range of freight cars, including railcars with longer turnaround times and increased axle load; a wide range of passenger cars, locomotive-pulled passenger trains, inter-regional and suburban electric and diesel trains; electric freight and passenger locomotives; spare parts for rolling stock.
