The Ukrainian Railways joint-stock company (JSC Ukrzaliznytsia) intends to build a new platform for the express trains operating on the Kyiv–Boryspil airport route in Vydubychi and integrate the rail line with the Kyiv subway line, Ukrzaliznytsia’s acting Board Chairman Yevhen Kravtsov announced on his Facebook page, the CFTS portal reports.
As the CFTS portal reported, Ukrzaliznytsia launched a high-speed express train between Kyiv and the Boryspil international airport on Friday, November 30. It operates 30 trips per day in both directions. The ticket price is UAH 80.
Ukrzaliznytsia expects to transport about 3.8 million passengers on the Kyiv-Boryspil airport route by 2019, and it is holding talks on electrification of the rail tracks from Kyiv to the airport.
