UZ Cargo Poland, a subsidiary of Ukrainian Railways (Ukrzaliznytsia), has transported petroleum products on the Lithuania-Poland-Ukraine route for the first time in cooperation with LTG Cargo Polska Sp. z o. o.

Ukrzaliznytsia announced this in a statement, the CFTS portal reports.

This is the first time that UZ Cargo Poland, as an EU-licensed rail carrier, has transported petroleum products on a specific route through the territory of Poland in combination with the provision of forwarding services, using wagons owned by Ukrzaliznytsia.

Recently, UZ Cargo Poland obtained a license from the Polish Railway Transportation Authority (UTK) to perform freight transport operations, a safety certificate from the European Union Agency for Railways (ERA) in accordance with the directives of the European Parliament and the European Council, and concluded the relevant agreements with the Polish railway infrastructure manager PKP Polskie Linie Kolejowe S.A. (PKP PLK S.A.).

The company’s next ambitious plan is to expand the geographical scope of its freight transport operations between Ukraine and the EU to other countries: Romania, Hungary, and Slovakia.

UZ Cargo Poland is an operator on the European market, connecting transportations within Ukraine and European countries, operating both 1435-mm and 1520-mm gauge rolling stock, and providing seamless logistics.
