The UTair Ukraine airline intends to return five ATR-72 regional turboprop airplanes to their manufacturer because of the difficult situation on the domestic passenger transportation market, the CFTS portal’s correspondent reports.
"We are giving these aircraft back to Toulouse from December 1. We are ending our domestic flights. The market is not prepared to pay to for such flights. The airplanes are very expensive, fuel prices are higher than prices in Europe, and airport services are also expensive. UkSATSE (the Ukrainian State Air Traffic Services Enterprise) charges the same rates for domestic and international flights," UTair Ukraine’s General Director Anatolii Bentsa told a press conference on Tuesday.
He added that the airline was continuing to operate on the charter market.
