The total volume of cargo transportation on River Dnipro was almost 5.4 million tons in the first seven months of 2019, which is 1.3 million tons more than the volume in the first seven months of 2018.

This is stated in data from the Ukrainian Seaports Authority (USPA), the CFTS portal reports.

According to the USPA, vessels performed 5,775 trips on River Dnipro in the first seven months of 2019, which is 31% fewer than the number that was performed in the corresponding period of 2018.

The volume of transportation of grain cargo increased 2.3-fold to 2.2 million tons.

The volume of transportation of construction cargo reduced by 5.7% to almost 2.4 million tons in the first seven months of 2019, compared with the corresponding period of 2018. In addition, the volume of transportation of metal products on the river increased by 34% to 835,000 tons in the first seven months of 2019, compared with the corresponding period of 2018.

The volume of transportation of petroleum products on the river reduced by 32% to 21,900 tons in the first seven months of 2019, compared with 32,300 tons in the corresponding period of 2018.

As the CFTS portal reported earlier, the fleet of the Ukrainian Danube Shipping Company (UDP) transported 260,000 tons of cargo in July 2019.
