The state-owned Yuzhny port intends to train its technical staff to handle international documents in the area of construction based on the standards of the International Federation of Consulting Engineers (FIDIC).
The Yuzhny port’s management met with Yevhen Savchenko, an expert on development and modeling of ports from the Sellhorn company, on 31 March to discuss this issue.
The Yuzhny port is hoping that FIDIC rules will lead to simplification of the procedure and to transparency of tender procurements and create clear and standardized rules for working with international construction and engineering companies.
The Yuzhny port is currently determining the specialists that will undergo additional training in this area in the near future.
"Today, the enterprise is interested in introducing modern technologies and standards that facilitate expansion of cooperation with international organizations. The Yuzhny port is the largest state port in Ukraine in terms of transshipment volumes. We must continue to create the most comfortable conditions for working with clients, provide high-quality services, and fully comply with international standards. I am confident that our positions on the market will be strengthened by cooperation with FIDIC," the Yuzhny port’s acting Director Vitalii Zhukovskyi said.
