President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyi said in an address to the Norwegian parliament on 30 March that Ukraine needs anti-ship weapons, air defense systems, armored vehicles, and artillery systems to enable it to repel Russia’s military aggression.
The CFTS portal reported this, citing the European Pravda publication.
“Freedom must be armed no worse than tyranny. I will be very specific: we are losing people and cities; they are collapsing. Therefore, I want to state what we need clearly. In particular, anti-ship weapons, Harpoon missiles, as well as NASAMS anti-aircraft systems,” Zelenskyi said.
In addition, according to him, Ukraine needs equipment for destroying armored vehicles and artillery systems.
"All the weapons that you can help us with will be used only to protect our freedom and your freedom, security," the president of Ukraine added.
The American-made Harpoon anti-ship missile is one of the most massive in the world. It is currently manufactured by the Boeing Corporation. The maximum range is between 90 and 220 kilometers, depending on the carrier, modification, and target designation. The missile is available in ship-, air-, and land-launched versions. The estimated cost of one unit is about USD 1.5 million.
As reported, the large Russian large landing Saratov was destroyed on March 24 as a result of an attack in the Russian-occupied seaport of Berdiansk by the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
