The Norwegian Public Roads Administration will send 10 bridges to Ukraine’s State Road Agency (Ukravtodor) as humanitarian aid. The bridges will be installed to replace those destroyed during the Russian military invasion.
According to the Ukrainian Ministry for Development of Communities, Territories, and Infrastructure, the temporary bridges are of the Acrow/bailey type, which are suitable for use by heavy-duty vehicles, the CFTS portal reports.
The bridges, which cost a combined NOK 30 million, were purchased with funds from the Norwegian Foreign Affairs Ministry’s humanitarian budget. The bridges are expected to arrive in Ukraine in January.
The cargo left the Norwegian Public Roads Administration’s warehouse in Bjorkelangen on 13 December.
In total, Norway will send 32 truckloads of humanitarian aid.
As the CFTS portal reported earlier, the Czech Republic and France have already donated nine temporary bridges to Ukraine in total.
