An An-148-100E aircraft with the tail number 61735 began flight tests at the Voronezh aircraft manufacturing company’s factory aerodrome in Voronezh (Russia) on Wednesday, October 17. It will be the 15th and final aircraft of this type to be delivered to the Russian Ministry of Defense, the CFTS portal reports, citing the Air Transport Review publication.
Active implementation of the An-148 aircraft-manufacturing program at the Voronezh aircraft manufacturing company will now be frozen. Considering the current state of Russian-Ukrainian relations, further production of this type of aircraft in Russia seems unlikely. That notwithstanding, according to the Voronezh aircraft manufacturing company, the aircraft that are already in operation will continue to be supported.
As reported earlier, the Antonov aircraft manufacturing plant intends to promote the An-148/158 regional aircraft with a capacity of up to 99 passengers, including on the Ukrainian market. It was announced on October 12 that Antonov has signed a memorandum on delivery of two An-158 aircraft to the Ukrainian airline Fanair.
